First Demo Thing…
“The Mountain is Burning” demo by Autumn Wind.
So here is the first “demo” of my upcoming, ambient/atmospheric/post-rock/raw/avant-garde black metal project, Autumn Insomnia. The themes of the project will focus around nature, emotions, radical beliefs, and spirituality. I still need a logo, and I still need more planning, but overall I think I’m satisfied with the initial results of this… It’s by no means perfect AT ALL and if I plan on using this song in the “final cut” of the first album [Chinook Wind] it needs a lot of reworking.
What was once there? The teeming life has been scorched into obsidian
The villagers gaze upwards entranced as somber smoke saturates the sky
All the trees on the hillside halt from their swaying dance to view the phenomena
The shaman sits at the foot of the blazing Goliath, eyes closed in arcane transcendence
Sultry embers descend from the summit, encircling the shaman, opens his eyes gently
The mountain is burning
The mountain is crumbling
The mountain is withering
Xaphan is smiling, as the smoke reaches the heavens, a warning to the angels above
The celestial birds dart across the ashen drab sky, with the images of fire in their eye
Howling wolves, they speak of the fire, screeching owls, they’re wise of the pyre
The mountain is burning
The mountain is crumbling
The mountain is gone
